What you will be doing
- Dealflow: Drive scouting, sourcing and screening of investment opportunities, with weekly presentation of your findings to the investment team. Ensure meetings (founders, investors, etc) and CRM are documented.
- Investment process: Independently manage, build and present simultaneous work streams, including industry research and competitive analysis of potential investments and markets of interest, in-depth analysis of investment opportunities, and due-diligence process, including the creation of financial models and risk analysis on potential investments to be presented to the Investment Committee
- Portfolio management: support Partners and Principals in monitoring the portfolio companies and provide operational support to them
- Community development: Represent Semapa Next in events and venture capital ecosystem events and conferences that include international conferences, in-person and virtual demo days, meetups with founders, and office hours.
- Company building: Be an integral part of our investment team, supporting Partners, Principals, in all aspects of their work, including a supporting lead role in managing internal business initiatives and improve our operational processes
What a great VC Associate will have
- You have 2-4 years of relevant work experience at a Startup, VC, or investment firm
- Passionate about new technology, the startup ecosystem and ideally, has exposure to Munich and/or Berlin tech communities
- Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to create and express an opinion.
- Strong execution skills: Self-directed, able to handle tasks until completion with thought, care, and attention to detail. Always ready to roll up sleeves.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills with an ability to develop and maintain high-quality relationships
- Proficiency with productivity and relationship management tools (Affinity, Slack)
